Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The purpose of this job is to maintain existing sales activities as well as to identify new markets and sales leads, pitch goods or services to new clients and maintain a good working relationship with new and existing contacts. The main goal is to increase Sales and Trading business within the EMEA as well as to diversify the client base in order to increase the business and maximize margins for REG’s products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Market research:

•     Conduct research to identify new markets in the EMEA region and customer needs

•    Maintaining up-to-date  understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets

Business development:

•     Develop an effective pipeline of new projects and customers while promoting the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives

•     Seek new business opportunities by developing relationships with potential customers

•     Establish proactively contact to potential customers / business partners

•     On-site meetings and discussion with potential customers about their needs, processes and products being of interest

Sales strategy and execution:

•     Conduct  day-to-day sales  initiatives  and  maintain  the  current  daily sales  activities  to existing customers

•     Develop  and  follow  a  growth  strategy focused  both  on  financial  gain  and  customer satisfaction

•     Stay knowledgeable about all products (biodiesel, co-products, etc.) and services offered by the business

•     Maximizing the sales volumes to existing customers and develop sales to new customers

•     Evaluate product & service marketability in terms of customers’ technical & energy needs

•     Preparing offers to tenders of major obligated parties in order to supply blended biofuels based on customer needs and regions

•     Understand blending economics and operations in order to provide a broader product base to customers

•     Act upon market view within given limitations for risk mitigation

•     Support of daily middle and back office related activities

Customer relationship management:

•     Represent the company in conferences, fairs and other external or internal events

•     Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support / claim management

•     Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

•     Proven working experience as a sales or business development representative or analyst, sales or project manager or any relevant role.

•     Profound  understanding  of  sales  drivers  as  well  as  risk  management  and  hedging mechanisms

•     Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to interact and communicate with individuals no matter their levels in the organization.

•     High level of self- motivation, independent working and drive for results. He/she must have an open mind and the ability to work with little or no supervision

•     Distinctive problem solving skills and creativity, ability to effectively resolve problems and think effectively, develop ideas in providing solution to problems as they come

•     Team player, enjoy working in an international environment

•     Maintaining a positive attitude that inspires co-workers and clients to grow the business

•     Understanding of workflow systems of the organization and their various applications to the improvement of customer business process

•     Ability to make engaging presentations to staff and clients whether formal or informal.

•     Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)

•     Deep understanding of European biofuels markets and products, including buyers, sellers, plants and competitors

•     Sound understanding of supply chains including operations and logistics and according terms (INCOTERMS).

•     Effective  time  management  and  planning  skills  are  a  must.  Ability  to  prioritize assignments at work, ability to work under pressure and still meet up with deadlines.

•     Must possess the ability to be thorough and extremely analytical

•     Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)

•     Language skills: highly proficient in spoken and written English, other European languages are an advantage

•     Travel required: 20-30%

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Required:  Bachelor's degree in marketing, economics, or general business preferred. 

Experience  Required: minimum  5  years  of  work  experience,  preferably in  a  fuel/biofuel related industry with experience in sales, business development or project management

Skills Required: Business development, Project management, negotiating, analytical thinking, strong communication and sales skills, team oriented. Math and accounting skills, as well as the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
