Renewable Energy Group, Inc. (REG) is looking for a Sales Representative for the DACH market. The position will be located in Amsterdam and supported by the local team. The purpose of this role is to develop market intelligence for and increase the value of REG’s products by marketing the products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland for different technical applications and into different industries. Assessing the market potential and developing new business relationships for biodiesel and other energy solutions will be a crucial responsibility within this position.



Market research:

  • Develop a deep understanding of DACH markets for biofuels and technical fuel applications
  • Conduct research to identify new markets in the DACH region and customer needs
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets

Business development:

  • Develop an effective pipeline of new strategic projects and customers while promoting the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives (for co-products and other energy solutions)
  • Seek new business opportunities and find new applications for REG’s products in order to increase the product value and develop trading opportunities
  • Establish proactive contact with potential customers / business partners
  • Conduct on-site meetings and discussions with potential customers about their needs, processes and products being of interest
  • Close collaboration with the US and EU team for exchanging market knowledge, developing business opportunities and finding quality management solutions
  • Develop relationships with companies for potential strategic alignment / collaboration

Sales strategy and execution:

  • Stay knowledgeable about all products and services offered by the business
  • Maximizing the product value and sales volumes to existing customers and develop sales to new customers while focusing on customer satisfaction
  • Evaluate product & service marketability in terms of customers’ technical & energy needs
  • Act upon market view within given limitations for risk mitigation


  • At least 2 years of work experience preferably in an energy/fuel/bio-fuel related or technical industry, with experience in sales and/or business development
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit, creative mind, and connected thinking
  • Team player who enjoys working in an international environment
  • Highly self-motivated, able to drive for results with little to no supervision
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, or related field
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and German, other European languages are a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
  • Travel required: 40-50%
