Job Description

Our comprehensive, 12-week paid internship program gives you the opportunity to test your skills working for the nation’s leading producer of cleaner fuels and developer of renewable chemicals. This internship will begin May 18, 2020 and end August 7, 2020.


The purpose of this position is to assist the Corporate Affairs team with internal and external communications, media relations, event management, and government affairs activities.


Key Accountabilities:

Corporate Communications
• Aid in internal branding program including print and electronic projects
• Research and write articles for staff newsletter to advance corporate culture and information processes

Media Relations
• Successfully integrate social mediums into earned media strategy for search engine optimization program
• Monitor industry trends and news to better position REG for media pick-up within the biodiesel industry and fueling industry

Government Affairs
• Gain a general understanding of the renewable fuels industry through on-site training and industry research
• Research, monitor and report state biodiesel-related legislative policies
• Aid in execution of grassroots program that promotes the use of REG products
• Support lobbying efforts and advocacy activities
Event Management
• Coordinate statewide staff social outing and meetings in accordance with provided budget outline
• Assist with company ribbon cuttings and groundbreaking ceremonies
Perform other duties as assigned


Education Required: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree – Communications, Political Science, Journalism, or related degree
**Senior, Junior, or Sophomore status preferred

Experience Required: Business environment experience, relevant courses, club participation and internship preferred

Skills Required:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
Basic math skills

Special skills or knowledge preferred:
AP writing style
