Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to assist with support for Network Security and End User Technology Needs.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Key Accountabilities:

Network Security

  • Implement and assist administrators with hard drive encryption deployment
  • Create mobile security policy
  • Implement smart phone security and MDM systems
  • Assist with Sarbanes Oxley documentation gathering activities
  • Assist with firewall, IPS, and VPN configuration
  • Optimize Security Information Event Monitoring (SIEM) system
  • Maintain Endpoint Anti-Virus Management system
  • Lead escalated security events and incidents
  • Effectively respond to case work relating to computer security vulnerabilities, phishing, malware, and forensic investigations

Support End User Technology Needs

  • Respond to employee technology needs in person or via email, phone, Lync, or remote desktop software to provide break/fix support for PC/laptop hardware, operating systems, applications, printers, video conference system, and etc.
  • Use helpdesk management system to respond to user support requests

Other Frequent Duties

  • Assist System/Network Administrators as needed in scaling network and turning up new branch office sites
  • Assist in maintenance of tape backup system, swap tapes, and monitor backup logs
  • Assist System/Network Administrators as needed by building new servers, configuring Ethernet switches, or firewalls as needed

Perform other duties as assigned


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education Required: Pursuing a Bachelor or Masters Degree – Information Technology or related degree

**Junior or Senior status preferred

Experience Required: 0-2 years

Business environment experience, relevant courses, club participation and internship preferred

Skills Required

Knowledge or training of firewall fundamentals and IT Security methodologies

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Install and configure host based antivirus software 

Firewall Administration

Windows networking TCP/IP Configuration and troubleshooting 

Thorough understanding of Active Directory


Special skills or knowledge preferred:

Network support experience relating to Firewall and VPN configuration in a multi-location environment

Hard drive encryption technologies – MBAM, BitLocker, Wave, and etc

CISSP certification

PCI DSS 3.0, SOX, and SAN best practices

Experience creating and testing disaster recovery plans (DRP)

VMware and Virtualization technologies

Experience with backup systems and software

Wireless security best practices
