Job Description

The purpose of this job is to provide technical support to assist REG Sales Team members sell renewable diesel, biodiesel and blends to fleet customers primarily in the Western Sales Region. This position will be responsible for National and Regional Fleet Accounts, working closely with REG Fleet Sales Management.

Part Time – 20-25 hours a week on average, this role will be working out of California and requires significant travel primarily within the West coast.


Technical Support of Fleet Sales

• Provide technical sales assistance for public and private fleets, primarily in REG Western Sales Region.
• Conduct face-to-face meetings with prospective and current customers, frequent overnight travel required by air and/or automobile
• Develop strategies and tactics to overcome Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) objections to biodiesel
• Communicate benefits of REG Ultra Clean Diesel and biodiesel to fleet customers.
• Understand customer needs
• Develop a good technical understanding of REG products and their benefits
• Evaluate engine performance and emissions data
• Understand emissions reduction technologies
• Assist in development of collateral to support sales efforts to fleets
• Understand sustainability initiatives within public and private fleets
• Strategically communicate with and influence customers
• Utilize Salesforce for customer relationship management including tracking and reporting customer interactions

Coordinating with internal (REG) and external teams

• Provide competitor and market intelligence
• Work with regional sales team members to identify sales opportunities
• Work with the National Biodiesel Board’s technical team
• Work closely with and coordinate all information and messaging with REG’s Technical Services team

Other frequent duties:
• Attend trade shows, conferences and association meetings
• Attend sales meetings via teleconference 

Performs other duties as assigned

Education: 4-year bachelor’s degree preferred, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience: 15+ years of Automotive or Mechanical Engineering and/or Diesel Mechanic experience. Strong knowledge of diesel engine performance and fuels.
