Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The purpose of this job is develop and maintain maintenance management systems in order to benefit internal and external customers of Renewable Energy Group (REG), ensuring quality biodiesel production, while maintaining clean, safe and well-kept facilities.

The Maintenance Clerk is responsible for implementing all maintenance management systems within JDE.   The position is responsible for recording and maintaining records of inventory, purchase orders, work orders, work histories and deliveries.  The Maintenance Clerk will work closely with their supervisor to order parts and equipment as needed and plan and schedule maintenance tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Effectively coordinate all maintenance planning/scheduling functions.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of maintenance history, purchase orders and deliveries and inventory/inventory transactions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized storeroom and shipping/receiving areas.
  • Complete inventory and conduct annual audits.
  • Work with management team to order parts and equipment as needed and maintain strong outside vender relationships.
  • Maintain accountability for all tools, equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in clean and in good working condition.
  • Learn and understand the basic operation of the biorefining process for a better understanding of plant needs.
  • Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.
  • Develop and maintain a Pd/Pm/WO system.
  • Assist with budgeting, project development and implementations, shutdown schedules and planning and vendor/purchasing coordination.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Required:

 High School diploma or equivalent required.

Must be willing to do a variety of task including, but not limited to assisting in maintenance work, assisting in confined space entries, gathering equipment nameplate information and other tasks as needed.

Must have a good working knowledge of part numbers and part usage and understand applications for use.

Knowledge in Microsoft Office and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.

Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to changes.

Experience Required:

Process or manufacturing experience preferred. General knowledge of computers, organizational skills, and attention to detail.  Valid Driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Skills Required: 

Advanced Excel skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Extensive math and basic financial analysis abilities

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Access)

Strong organization skills

Strong technical background

Enterprise-level databases (JD Edwards, Maximo, SAP, etc.)

Special skills or knowledge preferred:

SQL Server experience

Process data historians (PI ProcessBook)
