Job Description

The purpose of this job is develop and maintain maintenance management systems in order to benefit internal and external customers of Renewable Energy Group (REG), ensuring quality biodiesel production, while maintaining clean, safe and well-kept facilities.

The Maintenance Clerk will assist in the implementation of maintenance management systems within JDE. The position is responsible for recording and maintaining records of inventory, purchase orders, work orders, work histories and deliveries as directed. The Maintenance Clerk will work closely with their supervisor to order parts and equipment as needed and plan and schedule maintenance tasks.


Key Accountabilities:
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of maintenance history, purchase orders and deliveries and inventory/inventory transactions within JDE CMMS as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and organized storeroom and shipping/receiving areas.
• Complete inventory and conduct annual audits as scheduled.
• Work with management team to order parts and equipment as needed within budgeted amounts and maintain strong outside vender relationships.
• Maintain accountability for all tools, equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in clean and in good working condition.
• Learn and understand the basic operation of the biodiesel process for a better understanding of plant needs.
• Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.
• Assist with budgeting, project development and implementations, shutdown schedules and planning and vendor/purchasing coordination.
• Assist as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor the maintenance team with repairs.
• Expected to do a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, assisting in maintenance work, assisting in confined space entries, and other tasks as needed.

Must have a good working knowledge of part numbers and part usage and understand applications for use.
Knowledge in Microsoft Office and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to changes.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE: Process or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred. Strong knowledge of computers, organizational skills, and attention to detail required. Valid Driver’s license and acceptable driving record also required. 

Advanced Excel skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Extensive math and basic financial analysis abilities
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Access)
Strong organization skills
Strong mechanical and electrical technical background

SQL Server experience
Oracle and/or JD Edwards
Process data historians (PI Process Book)
