Job Description


The purpose of this position is to oversee the development and management of the tanks and terminals positions within REG. This position is also responsible for the coaching and mentoring of all staff associated with the listed responsibility.


 Primary Duties

  •     Work with REG specialist for completing strategic analysis concerning proper locations of REG T&T locations. This is of current and future locations for proper fit within REG
  •     Determination of potential T&T locations capabilities and how those physical capabilities compare to the current and future needs of REG
  •     Establishment and execution of metrics to measure the projected / actual physical and financial performance of T&T locations
  •     Negotiations of T&T contracts for the benefit of REG
  •     Actively engage with REG Sales, Procurement and Transportation Staff to continually monitor the current and upcoming needs for optimizing company performance
  •     Direct oversight of T&T staff for the purpose of daily management of REG transactions
  •     Development of T&T staff for preparation for growth within the REG system (approximately 3 – 4 employees)

  •     Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
  •     Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports
  •     Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value
  •     Manage business unit budget and controls expenses effectively
  •     Assist in the hiring, training, development and appraisal of employees
  •     Ensure corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy
  •     Keep up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance
  •     Support financial decisions by monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures
  •     Analyze market conditions and develop a business plan and budget
  •     Suggest and implement changes to the strategy as conditions in the marketplace change

Customer Relations
  •     Supervise, direct and coordinate activities of staff engaged in the efficient and effective management of tanks and terminals functions
  •     Develop and maintain a professional and positive working relationship with internal and external sales force, plant operations, and all customers
  •     Assist in the development and execution of the annual tanks and terminals strategy

Other frequent duties:
  • Maintain a strong understanding of REG accounting procedures and financial conditions
  • Recommend and execute process improvements in record keeping, personnel, and procedures
  • As new personnel demands arise for the department, recruit, hire, educate, and coach new employees
  • Participate in industry organizations and functions as require

Expected Overnight Travel: 40% - 50% (some international travel)

Perform other duties as assigned


Education Required: 4 year bachelor’s degree – Supply Chain Management, or related business degree

            *MBA preferred

Experience Required:  5 years within the Tanks and Terminals industry

*2 years management experience preferred
