Renewable Energy Group, Inc. (REG) is looking for a Sales Trader Biofuels for the Nordics market. The position will be located in Amsterdam and supported by the local team. The purpose of this role is to develop market intelligence for and increase the value of REG’s products by marketing REG’s products into the Nordic countries and, in case of strategic interest, also the markets surrounding those countries. The focus will be to develop new segments in order to diversify REG’s customer portfolio. Assessing the market potential and developing new business relationships for biodiesel and other energy solutions will be a crucial responsibility within this position.


• Follow a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
• Conduct research to identify new markets in the Nordics region and surrounding countries and customer needs
• Seek new business opportunities by developing relationships with potential customers in new segments
• Develop an effective pipeline of new projects and customers while promoting the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
• Maximize the sales volumes to existing customers and develop sales to new and prospective customers
• Evaluate product & service marketability in terms of customers’ technical & energy needs
• Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that affect target markets
• Prepare offers and sales contracts ensuring adherence to legal and company rules and guidelines
• Support of daily middle and back office related activities
• Collaborate with REG departments
• Be knowledgeable about all products (biodiesel, co-products, etc.) and services offered by the business
• Prepare offers to tenders of major obligated parties and smaller customers of other segments in order to supply blended biofuels based on customer needs and regions
• Understand blending economics and operations in order to provide a broader product base to customers
• Represent the company in conferences, fairs and other external or internal events
• Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support / claim management
• Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
• Perform other duties as assigned


• Strong entrepreneurial spirit, creative mind, and connected thinking

• Team player, enjoy working in an international environment
• Highly self-motivated, able to drive for results with little to no supervision
• Fluent in spoken and written English, other European languages (preferably Scandinavian languages) are a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
• Travel required: 30-40%


Education Required: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance or related field
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in an energy/fuel/biofuel related or technical industry, with experience in sales, trading and/or business development
