Job Description


The purpose of this position is to lead the analytics effort in support of the entire Procurement Department including feedstock, chemicals and co products. The role will work to create management information that provides confidence in the control of initiatives around the global marketplace for availability, timing, distribution and pricing of the commodities traded by REG Procurement.


Standard strategic duties:

  • Create management information that is visible for high level decision making
  • Establish initiatives that add discipline to logistics efforts and utilization of those transportation assets
  • Lead other Procurement Analyst in their personal development and knowledge
  • Work hand in hand with Senior Leadership and Department Leadership to provide strategic planning for the organizations growth
  • Be a key contact for other REG departments in their efforts to conduct analysis when Procurement data is needed
  • Lead the development of individual dashboards for the members of the Procurement Team
  • Lead the development of presentations to be utilized in corporate and public settings for the communication of procurement initiatives
  • Verify and consolidate position information into format for cross department sharing

Process improvement initiatives:

  • Work with traders and senior analyst to improve order tracking methods
  • Collaborate across departments to capitalize on policy opportunities
  • Create improved visibility of forecasted procurement positions
  • Focus on methods to improve procedures through process and technology exploration 

Corporate support and other activities:

  • Update supplier compliance documentation
  • Periodic overnight travel to REG plants, suppliers and industry conferences
  • Assist the budgeting process with data gathering and forecasting
  • Work with senior management and gather information for board of director presentations, senior leadership team meetings, and earnings calls
  • Additional duties as assigned


Education required:

4-year bachelor’s degree –Accounting, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, Management Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, or related experiences 

Experience required:

5+ years

Skills required

Microsoft Office Suite

Proficient in Excel


Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred experience:

Business Intelligence systems

Database systems
