Job Description

*This position will close on February 16th. 


The purpose of this job is to be responsible for and assist with invoicing, procuring new carriers and rates, and operational planning. This position is also responsible to oversee projects involving the transportation team.



Key Accountabilities:

Staff Administration

  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate staff
  • Training of staff personnel
  • Analyze processes used by coordinators for improvement opportunities
  • Assist in training of new plant personnel
Invoicing Support

  • Monitor invoice process/workload
  • Handle disputes and determine resolutions
Transportation Functions

  • Procure new carriers
  • Negotiate rates

Other Department Support

  • Support sales team with timely and accurate freight quotes
  • Assist procurement to get inbound loads as efficiently as possible
  • Communicate with plants and terminals to assist with carriers
Other frequent duties:

  • Assisting Accounts Payable with billing questions
  • New employee hire/orientation
  • Speaking to incoming carriers/classes
  • Provide solutions to problems as they arise
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Education Required: 4 year bachelor’s degree – Supply Chain Management, or related business degree

Experience Required: 3-5 years

**Advanced education may substitute for some experience

Skills Required

Advanced Excel skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Extensive math and accounting skills

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Special skills or knowledge preferred:

JD Edwards

Oracle Transportation Management (OTM)
